Healing For Korean artist Soeun Park, her
paintings are actually chronicles of her memories,
emotional healing as well as her solutions to all the
sufferings and miseries that she has gone through.
Whatever sadness that may be detected from her paintings
is well hidden beneath the strong-minded faces of the
children whom she has depicted.
resurrection Born and raised in Tokyo, Shinsuke
Minegishi was profoundly affected by the
catastrophic earthquake and consequent tsunami that hit
Tōhoku, Japan in March of 2011. Three months
later, the artist visited his hometown of Tokyo where he
saw firsthand the continued devastating effects of the
earthquake and tsunami on the nation. It was out
of his experience and observation of this time that
compelled Minegishi to produce the two print
series, ‘fragility’ and ‘resurrection’, both which are
included in resurrection.
Hong Kong Art Gallery Week Art Beatus (Hong Kong) is pleased to
participate in Hong Kong Art Gallery Week 2014. We
are very proud to present works by Kiyoko Yamaguchi, Lo
Shyh-charng, Song Hyeong-Noh, Stephanie Ho, Carl Corey,
Louis Boudreault, Ban Wei and Suo Yutong.
Tracing Dreams Song Hyeong–Noh‘s paintings are
astonishingly attractive with almost three-dimensional
visual impacts. They are about his dreams, his family or
simply the up-graded versions of his childhood wall
scribbles.
Resplendence Known for his stunning landscape paintings
and masterful use of colours, Resplendence is a
collection of Jie (Jack) Zhou’s latest works
featuring birch forests around northern Ontario surveyed
from different seasons of the year.
Luxuriant Materialism Hong Kong is world renowned as one gigantic
shopping mall. Local photo artist Jolans Fung
has created a new series of works to convey his views on
luxuriant materialism offering his humorous treatments
on rampant consumerism.
Asia Hotel Art Fair Seoul 2014 Art Beatus (Hong Kong) is pleased to
take part in Asia Hotel Art Fair Seoul 2014.
Proudly presenting works by gallery artists Stephanie
Ho, Lei Ling, Ban Wei and Wang Xunliang.
Hong Kong Sketchbook Sketching street scenes is her way of
appreciating the building structures that are
confronting her. Kiyoko Yamaguchi has been doing
just that wherever she goes. Trained as an
architectural historian and worked professionally as a
university instructor, Yamaguchi has depicted
numerous Hong Kong street scenes since she started
living here eight years ago.
A Solo Exhibition of Works by Yumie Kono As a Japanese woman, the mythical
Canadian North remains a mysterious and unknown
place. I am particularly drawn to Northern
mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, plants, and wild
animals. For me, the North offers an outer
landscape that is in dialogue with my inner landscape.
– Yumie Kono
Remnants Gao Zengli’s paintings are his
intimate memories or the lingering thoughts that refuse
to leave his mind. He reconstructed these fragments of
memory on his canvases, painting over broken pieces of
porcelain wares or on hemp sackcloth that were once used
to transport rice.
Strands We are pleased to present a selection of
paintings by artist and dancer Mimi Chen Ting in
her first solo exhibition in Vancouver at Art
Beatus. The title of this exhibition, Strands,
refers to “elements that form part of a complex
whole.” According to Ting, these elements
are various eclectic sources of inspiration for her
paintings.
Asia Hotel Art Fair Hong Kong 2014 Art Beatus (Hong Kong) is pleased to
announce our participation in Asia Hotel Art Fair
Hong Kong 2014. Presenting works by artists Alex
Shou, Ban Wei, Chen Jianguo, Gao Zengli, Kiyoko
Yamaguchi, Li Yibing, Li You, Lo Shyh-Charng, Matsushita
Hiroe, Ross C. Kelly, Stephanie Ho, Wang Nengtao, Wong
Fung-Chi and Xu Yong.
Thousand Dreams of Flowers Katie Cheung is a soulful painter
imbued with the Romantic notion of drawing upon
imagination and emotion as sources of artistic
inspiration.
