River of Spirit In a wall-installation of approximately 100
ink wash drawings, primordial and aqueous lifeforms,
plants and other familial matter virtually come to life
as they appear to glide and move about effortlessly on
the paper.

Second Look By deliberately disturbing the recording of
objects-in-focus through a barrier in his camera, Xu
Yong forces viewers to switch from the accepted concept
of ‘capturing an image of the world’ to ‘capturing an
image made possible by photography’.

Serve The People One of Li You's wood works, exemplifies his
particular way in stating his view. The work is his
explicit tributes to the popular political slogan that
can be seen almost everywhere in China and often come in
scripts after Chairman Mao.

Will It Still Rain Tomorrow? Working within the grey scale and with a
tint of brown colour, Shou’s depictions are mostly about
rainy days. The emotional feeling grasped, the weather
recorded and the shades of grey fit well in evoking old
memories thus making other colours superfluous.

Gates: Spirit of a City The destruction of the historical, cultural
and artistic element to these sites provoked artist,
