Alex
Shou was born in 1980 and graduated from the Fine
Art Department of Shanghai University in 2003. He
continued his pursuit in oil painting in Melbourne
University and received his Masters degree in Fine Art
in 2006. Shou's works take viewers on a romantic
trip with an aim to rekindle the passion of
disillusioned art-lovers.
Chen Jianguo, a native of Hebei, has worked in Song Zhuang (north of Beijing) since 2002 after graduating from the Fine Art Department of Hebei Light Industry Management School. In his paintings, viewers witness the scenic beauties as well as the destructive forces in life. They also observe the horrors of natural and man-made disasters. Yet in the midst of all these, they see HOPE.
Ma Yanling, lives and works in Beijing, China. Like flowing water, life drifts by us casually and continuously and there are moments in life that people with the same interest share. Ma strives, in her works, to re-ignite those certain moments with faces of some stellar figures of the last century to help her in preserving time.
Park Soeun was born in Seoul and graduated from Sookmyung Women's University, South Korea. Park has spent the most part of her life pursuing in vain for the perfect happiness. The chance of an artist-in-residence programme in the United States gave her the opportunity to explore deeply into this life-long desire of hers and through her interviews with a group of children from different nationalities, she has finally come to terms with herself as well as getting answers to the questions of perfect happiness. She embodied the answers and the process of discovery in her series of paintings.
Kaleidoscope exhibition will open at Art Beatus Gallery on Friday, October 17, 2016 and will continue until November 25, 2016.
