Opening Ceremony
- January 14, 2005, 6pm - 8pm:
The artist will be present at the opening ceremony.
For
over
thirty years, Water Poon has built for himself a
towering fame in the art of photography. He
keeps
a detailed record on the happenings as well as the
beauty and tranquillity around him. Poon captures them
through the lens of a camera, which can be a photo
camera, a movie camera or a video camera. His
past
works were mostly some fleeting moments in life,
objectively encapsulated with the equipment in his
hands. Internalization of the feelings involved was
frequently not being considered. In recent years, Poon has occasionally worked with another medium – ink paintings. He internalizes his ideas and feelings releasing them through the ink brush in his hand. This aspect of creativity is done in between his photos and other projects. In
the
Sans Frontiers exhibition at Art Beatus’ Exchange Square
gallery, Poon puts on show about thirty pieces of his
ink works. Each piece has been casually named but fully
enlightened with a lasting feeling of quietness. For

Podium level.
