Lord Kiyomori (The Leader of the Heike) 1118-1181 AD

The main character of “The Tale of the Heike”.  He gained monstrous political power with his incredible wealth, unstoppable military might, and established the prosperous foundation of the Heike Clan.  Kiyomori was bold and autocratic, yet was sentimental enough to save the life of a *Genji which bore a seed of the downfall of the Heike.  He was depicted as the symbol of arrogance.
